Job summary

Quaise Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technician to support R&D activities by designing, assembling, testing, and maintaining prototype hardware and laboratory systems.

You will work with scientists and engineers on millimeter wave drilling tech, including waveguides, gyrotrons, power supplies, pumps, and related equipment. Responsibilities include building mechanical assemblies, interpreting drawings, troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe lab operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a mechanical technician role.
• Experience supporting prototype development, laboratory research, or new product development environments preferred.
• OSHA or other workplace safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fabricate, modify, and maintain prototype hardware and lab equipment.
• Build, integrate, and troubleshoot mechanical assemblies for millimeter wave drilling tech.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and documents to support fabrication and testing.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to prototype and refine designs.
• Perform laboratory testing, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Install, relocate, commission, and maintain laboratory equipment and prototype systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on lab improvements and tooling.
• Maintain documentation of prototype builds, equipment modifications, and testing.
