Job summary

Glenn Rieder, LLC is seeking an entry-level Buyer I in Milwaukee, WI to support the purchasing function by executing purchase orders, managing routine requisitions, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies for millwork components.

This role emphasizes transactional buying, data accuracy in ERP systems, and collaboration with Production and Engineering to meet delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 0–2 years purchasing experience (manufacturing or construction preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of materials used in millwork (hardware, sheet goods, laminates, etc.) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders per policy.
• Obtain quotes from approved suppliers and compare pricing/lead times.
• Maintain data in ERP/MRP system (Epicor, JobBoss, or similar).
• Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering on delivery schedules and substitutions.
• Support Materials Department with vendor follow-up, expediting, and documentation.
• Maintain purchasing and vendor records.
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting.
