Job summary

CTG is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a W-2 contract assignment, onsite in Painted Post, NY, with a standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule.

This role involves developing and supporting software used in manufacturing environments, including measurement, inspection, machine vision, and data reporting. Ideal candidates are recent graduates or early-career engineers with a Bachelor's degree and skills in C#, Python, C++, Java, or MATLAB, plus strong problem‑solving and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Up to three years of software development experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Programming experience with one or more: C#, Python, C++, Java, or MATLAB.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design principles.
• Familiarity with SDLC, testing, debugging, and QA.
• Experience with version-control tools such as Git, GitLab, Subversion, or Visual SourceSafe.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and support manufacturing software applications.
• Assist with software used for measurement, inspection, machine vision, and image processing.
• Support data collection, analysis, machine learning, and reporting systems.
• Participate in software design, code reviews, testing, and quality‑assurance activities.
• Diagnose software issues and work with team members to implement solutions.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teams.
