Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Up to three years of software development experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Programming experience with one or more: C#, Python, C++, Java, or MATLAB.
  • Understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, testing, debugging, and QA.
  • Experience with version-control tools such as Git, GitLab, Subversion, or Visual SourceSafe.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

CTG is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a W-2 contract assignment with a long-standing client. This is an onsite position in Painted Post, NY, and candidates must be able to commute to the worksite.

Location: Painted Post, NY 100% on-site Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation: up to $40.25 hourly depending on experience Education: Bachelor's degree required

Position Overview

The Junior Software Engineer will help develop, test, troubleshoot, and support software used in manufacturing environments. The work may involve measurement and inspection systems, machine vision, image processing, data collection, machine learning, and reporting applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer interested in gaining hands‑on experience with manufacturing technology and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exposure to sensors, cameras, motion systems, machine vision, image processing, or industrial control systems
  • Previous academic, internship, or project experience involving manufacturing software or automation
