Job summary

Veridiam is seeking a Junior Manufacturing Engineer in El Cajon, CA to support development and improvement of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly and heat treating.

You will provide technical support to production, contribute to cost reductions, assist with DFMs, and help maintain BOMs and routings in ERP systems while coordinating with multiple teams to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum one (1) year manufacturing experience or equivalent of education and experience.
• Experience manufacturing with exotic metals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, designing, developing and driving manufacturing processes to support improvements, customer needs and production.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to the production processes, generate cost reduction and continuous improvement recommendations.
• May gather technical/customer requirements, assist with design for manufacturability (DFM) efforts with detailed labor/material cost calculations.
• Create and maintain bill of material and routing data in the enterprise resource planning system.
• Create and manage project timelines.
• Interface with production employees, supervisors, engineers, quality management, suppliers and customers to refine technical requirements.
