Job summary

National Oilwell Varco in Cedar Park, TX, is seeking a manufacturing/process engineer to drive process development and lean improvements in assembly operations. You will partner with area leadership and product engineering to ensure manufacturability and robust SQDC performance on-site.

Responsibilities include root cause analysis, tooling and instruction design, new product introductions, and timely execution of process qualification plans, with travel to NOV offices and customer sites as

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology from an accredited university.
  • Experience in improving fabrication and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proven track record in systematic problem-solving.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of manufacturing experience with 2+ years on production equipment and maintenance.
  • Experience implementing Lean thinking and tools, and in design and application of precision production tooling.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining production routers and work instructions.
  • Strong project management skills for problem-solving and project execution.
  • Proficiency in CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficiency with MRP systems such as JDE or Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically to NOV offices and customer locations.
  • Commitment to observing safety regulations and attending safety training.

  • Ensure timely execution of new process qualification plans.
