Job summary

A Japanese manufacturing company in Smyrna, GA is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the accounting team with cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close activities.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or related field, 0–2 years of experience, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with cost accounting concepts. This is an on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–2 years related experience, internships acceptable.
• Familiarity with cost accounting and manufacturing environment preferred.
• Coursework or experience in financial/cost accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily transactions (AP, AR, GL entries).
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support inventory costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts.
• Help track fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with COGS calculations and project cost tracking.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Assist with audits by gathering documentation.
• Assist with sales tax filings and compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with production and procurement on cost questions.
