Holobeam Technologies is seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer–Medical Imaging to join our team in Bethpage, NY. You will work at the intersection of medical imaging, computer vision, and data quality to build robust ML pipelines.

You'll review imaging studies, validate metadata, and train/benchmark segmentation models, with hybrid or remote work options for exceptional candidates. This role offers growth across the ML lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with PyTorch.
• Experience training and evaluating computer vision or segmentation models.
• Practical experience with medical imaging data.
• Working knowledge of DICOM.
• Understanding of model evaluation, experimental design, dataset partitioning, and error analysis.
• Familiarity with imaging anatomy sufficient to recognize technically inadequate studies or anatomically implausible outputs without performing diagnostic interpretation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate medical imaging studies, DICOM metadata, annotations, segmentation masks, and model-generated outputs.
• Develop reproducible quality-control and data-validation workflows.
• Train, benchmark, and evaluate computer vision and segmentation models.
• Identify data, preprocessing, annotation, and model-output issues.
• Perform error analysis and root-cause analysis of model and data failures.
• Prepare validated datasets and outputs for downstream ML development.
• Document methods, experiments, decisions, and results.
• Work with technical and clinical stakeholders and elevate cases requiring additional review.
