Job summary

JE Dunn is seeking an entry-level M/E Engineer 1 to perform routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities in support of project strategy and values. You will collect data, learn to develop estimates and assist with systems and bid analysis as part of a collaborative, safety-focused team.

The role emphasizes learning, mentoring, and applying JE Dunn’s standards while growing technical skills in estimating and construction management on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0-2 years construction experience and/or summer internship/co-op experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Learns and participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates using program and schematic design information with automated M/E estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options in preconstruction and conducts systems analysis.
• Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection input.
• Assists in sequencing various systems to meet schedule requirements.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify constructability issues and create reports.
• Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and quality.
• Learns and supports shop drawing/submittal process.
• Assists with commissioning including pre-functional checklists and testing procedures.
