Job summary

United States Sugar Corp is seeking a Junior Lead Trackman to support daily track maintenance and repair activities in the Sugar Cane Operations division. You will assist in leading a crew, ensure safety, and coordinate with Railroad Operations.

The role requires a solid understanding of track components, experience in railroad track maintenance, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Florida license and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in railroad track maintenance.
• Valid Florida Class E driver's license.
• Working knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards (49 CFR 213) and industry safety standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in radio communications and coordinating with Dispatcher and/or Yardmaster.
• Proficient in reading/writing in English.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily track maintenance and repair tasks including rail replacement, tie changes, surfacing, and tamping.
• Operate a Material Truck and other Roadway Maintenance Machines when required.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on Material Truck and RMM.
• Assist mechanic when required.
• Coordinate work and communicate with Railroad Operations.
• Support Senior Lead Trackman in coordinating crew activities and safety.
• Help with material handling and site preparation.
• Identify and report track defects and unsafe conditions.
• Conduct job briefings and follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Be available to support work during nights, weekends, and emergencies.
