Job summary

Sterling Labs, a DoD- and industry-accredited environmental laboratory in the greater Chicago area, is hiring a Sample Disposal Technician. You will ensure proper disposal of laboratory samples, document disposal in LIMS, and uphold EPA, DOT, OSHA safety standards in a fast-paced lab setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining organization and compliance with hazardous waste handling protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior lab disposal experience preferred.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills; familiarity with LIMS is a plus.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and safety practices; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Dispose of laboratory samples per procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Scan samples in LIMS and maintain accurate disposal records.
• Follow PPE and safety protocols; handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Assist in monthly inventory updates and sample storage organization.
• Coordinate with lab staff on sample status and disposal requirements.
