Job summary

Tempus is seeking candidates for a lab support role in Chicago to manage initial sample handling, review quality, and ensure proper specimen processing. You will coordinate with the lab team to track samples from receipt through accessioning and custody hand-off, maintaining strict procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Relevant experience in a similar work environment.
• Highly organized with superb attention to detail.
• Able to learn quickly and adapt to new processes.
• Proficient with standard office software and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Unpack samples and review initial quality and requirements.
• Handle specimens from package receipt through accessioning to chain of custody hand-off.
• Accurately assign samples to the appropriate workstream.
• Adhere to department procedures.
• Participate in UAT and special projects.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with other laboratory staff.
