Job summary

Sterling Labs is seeking a Sample Disposal Technician in Des Plaines, IL to manage laboratory waste with precision and care. You will document disposal activities, scan samples in LIMS, and ensure safe, regulatory-compliant handling of all waste streams.

In this role, you will follow EPA, DOT, and OSHA guidelines, use PPE, and help maintain organized storage areas. A proactive, detail-focused approach supports our environmentally responsible operations.

Qualifications

• Experience handling laboratory disposal procedures or related compliance knowledge.
• Familiarity with data entry and LIMS or similar systems is a plus.
• Understanding of hazardous materials handling and disposal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper disposal of laboratory samples following company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Scan samples for disposal using LIMS.
• Follow safety protocols and use required PPE.
• Maintain compliance with EPA/DOT/OSHA waste regulations.
• Assist in keeping sample storage areas clean and organized.
• Communicate disposal procedures and requirements to lab staff.
