AtkinsRéalis in Raleigh, NC seeks an entry-level ITS/Traffic Engineer to join our NC ITS/Traffic Team. You will design and develop plans for ITS and traffic design, including traffic signals, fiber routing, utility coordination, signing, and safety studies.

You will organize investigations, draft basic technical reports, research design options, prepare preliminary estimates, and coordinate with other disciplines. A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Basic computing skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred; strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans related to ITS and traffic design, including signals and fiber routing.
• Organize ITS/traffic investigations and draft straightforward technical reports.
• Research design options, prepare preliminary man-hour and material estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and perform field observations as needed.
• Contribute to specifications and permit applications and ensure quality checks.
