Waypoint’s client seeks a Junior Consultant – IT Software Asset Management in Rockville, MD to support hardware asset lifecycle management within a federal environment.

The role focuses on CMDB accuracy, service requests, and cross-functional collaboration, including government stakeholders and vendor partners. On-site, full-time position with security eligibility requirements. Strong IT asset management skills required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in hardware-focused IT Asset Management.
• Experience working with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and IT asset management tools such as ServiceNow.
• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for access to classified information, including security investigations and drug screening.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Rockville, MD, five days per week.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the full IT hardware asset lifecycle, including receiving, tagging, shipping, recovery, and disposal of equipment.
• Maintain CMDB asset records and inventory management systems.
• Conduct physical inventory audits and asset tracking.
• Process IT asset request-fulfillment tickets per SLAs and client expectations.
• Collaborate with government personnel and vendor partners.
• Maintain and update IT asset management processes and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendor partners for alignment and information sharing.
• Support shipments, transfers, and recovery activities.
• Lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
