Job summary

Integrity is hiring an entry-level Underwriting Assistant to work with an Underwriter and learn how to review applications for insurance coverage according to carrier guidelines. You will assist agents, log applications, and balance forms.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 1 year in insurance, medical, or customer service, with strong communication and attention to detail. This role offers training and opportunities to grow within a fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of proven experience in insurance, medical field, or customer service.
• 2-4 years of related experience, or minimum 2 years' experience in an advanced administrative position using independent judgement and attention to detail.
• Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist agents with comments or questions about applications and the likelihood of acceptance by the company.
• Log applications using automated log/proposal program.
• Calculate modal premium due, noting any shortage or overage, and prepare and balance CWA Input Form.
• Input CWA into the CWA database, when applicable.
• Make outbound calls to agents or applicants to verify information left blank or unclear on the application.
• Take inbound calls from agents or applicants and relay information about outstanding requirements.
• Complete non-medical telephone interviews with applicants when necessary.
• Order and follow up on requirements pre and post issue.
• Learn and understand differences between Federal and State Open Enrollment, Guarantee Issue and Standard applications.
• Provide training and/or mentoring.
