Job summary

Integrity Marketing Group is seeking an Underwriter Assistant to learn how to review applications for insurance coverage under carrier guidelines. You will collaborate with underwriting, assist agents, and help ensure accurate, complete submissions to carriers.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, logging and balancing data, and performing non-medical interviews when needed. A strong emphasis on communication, detail, and regulatory understanding will be essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year experience in insurance, medical field, or customer service preferred.
• Medical insurance background is a plus.
• 2-4 years of related experience or 2+ years in advanced admin with independent judgement and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist agents with comments or questions about applications and likelihood of acceptance.
• Log applications, calculate modal premium due, and balance CWA Input Form.
• Input CWA into the CWA database when applicable.
• Make outbound calls to verify information on the application.
• Handle inbound calls and relay information about outstanding requirements.
• Conduct non-medical telephone interviews when necessary.
• Order and follow up on requirements pre and post issue.
• Understand differences between Federal and State Open Enrollment, Guarantee Issue and Standard applications.
• Provide training and/or mentoring as needed.
