Job summary

Smp Automotive Systems Alabama Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead production project implementations in Alabama. You will liaise between production, logistics and HQ functions to ensure cost-conscious, result-oriented actions and timely manufacturing sequences.

You will plan material flow, design workstations, create Value Stream Maps, support new techniques, and contribute to MTM analyses and Kaizen initiatives across the plant. Fluency in English preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in project management and production planning.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CAD tooling (AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, MTM/REFA, and Lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Material flow planning with logistics planning department.
• Workplace design and specification in cooperation with HQ / Ergonomics.
• Generating Value Stream Maps, flow diagrams, production layouts.
• Involvement in development and introduction of new techniques.
• Involvement in designing customer articles for production.
• Generation of and involvement in process FMEAs.
• Manufacturing engineering collaboration with technical departments.
• Determining required secondary equipment and specs.
• Construction monitoring, acceptance and launch of secondary equipment.
• Sub-Project Management duties and cost control.
• Planning and executing ratio / optimization projects.
• Involvement in design FMEA and QA-assisted sequences.
• Support for Kaizen projects and daily startup/series support.
• Execution of MTM analyses and optimization of processes.
