Job summary

GAP Solutions Inc. is seeking a Junior Human Resource Specialist to support managers, program staff, and customers on a full range of HR topics including staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment, compensation, SES programs, and employee relations.

This role supports DHS/ICE’s Office of Human Capital and the HROC. You will handle payroll actions, file creation, record maintenance, and federal HR guidance while providing broad administrative support to leaders and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; or 3 years of federal HR experience as equivalent.
• Familiarity with Health and Human Services guidelines for federal drug testing when applicable.
• U.S. citizen or LPR; must reside in the U.S. or territories for required period.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel and payroll actions; key payroll documents and leave audits.
• Create vacancy, retirement, and payroll folders.
• Research waiver and hearing requests.
• Scan documents into personnel record systems.
• Assist with drafting SOPs and processing insurance reimbursement claims.
• Initiate tentative selection notifications and disposition letters.
• Provide HR guidance to applicants and staff; maintain employee files.
• Provide administrative support to managers and program staff; manage calendars and travel arrangements.
• Coordinate conference/meeting logistics and prepare agendas and spreadsheets.
• Monitor office supply inventories and sharePoint uploads.
