Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Associate HMI Design Engineer to design, develop, modify, and test HMI software for generator control switchgear. You will collaborate with Power System Engineers to validate HMI programming and deliver reliable remote support for installations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science and hands-on experience with HMI platforms. Onsite work five days a week is expected in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Modify template HMI programs to align with project PLCs.
• Convert legacy HMI programs to current software.
• Configure industrial computers with software and HMI projects.
• Verify developed/converted HMI programs and document results.
• Provide HMI engineering/technical support to production, helpdesk, and field service.
• Support HMI packages such as FactoryTalk SE, Vijeo, Panel View, Crimson, FactoryTalk ME.
