Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Associate HMI Design Engineer to design, develop, modify, and implement HMI software for generator control switchgear. You will work with Power System Engineers to test, verify, and tune HMI programming, and provide remote support for HMI installations.

The role requires experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk, RSView, Vijeo, Crimson, Kepware, Applicom, and Wonderware, plus a bachelor’s in a relevant field. Onsite five days a week with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in one of the listed engineering or computer science fields.
Proficiency in HMI software and programming for industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

Modify template HMI programs to align with project PLCs.
Convert legacy HMI programs to current software.
Configure lab PCs with HMI projects and software.
Verify tested HMI programs and document results.
Provide HMI engineering support to production, helpdesk, field service and aftermarket.
Support HMI packages such as FactoryTalk SE, Vijeo, Panel View, Crimson and FactoryTalk ME.
Configure lab PLC networks to support HMI testing (Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Woodward).
