Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is hiring a volleyball coach to supervise all phases of the girls volleyball program for the DCSD 7-12 grades. The role includes planning, strategy, and instruction, plus care of equipment and coordination with high school staff to ensure continuity.

The ideal candidate will enforce academic standards, develop players to reach their potential, and promote good sportsmanship while coordinating with the Building Activity Director and Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired.
• Complete online application including a resume and 3 letters of reference.
• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse student groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of the volleyball program including planning, strategy, and fundamentals.
• Care for and issue volleyball equipment used by the team.
• Communicate with high school coaching staff to ensure continuity in the DCSD 7-12 program.
• Enforce district academic standards and eligibility requirements.
• Develop players to their fullest potential and promote good sportsmanship.
• Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support and implement DCSD MTSS for behavior and academics.
• Work with Activity Director and Director of Athletics for Davenport Community Schools.
