Davenport Community Schools in Davenport, IA, seeks a dedicated basketball program assistant. You will supervise all phases of the program, plan instruction, manage equipment, and liaise with high school coaching staff to ensure continuity across DCSD 7-12 boys' basketball.

The role emphasizes enforcing academic standards, developing players from fundamentals to advanced skills, promoting sportsmanship, and documenting reports.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired.
• Complete online application including a resume and 3 letters of reference.
• Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.

Responsabilités

• Assist with supervision of all phases of the basketball program including planning and instruction.
• Responsible for care and issuance of all basketball equipment.
• Communicate with high school coaching staff and attend meetings for continuity.
• Understand, monitor, and enforce district academic standards, policies, and eligibility requirements.
• Develop players to their fullest potential from fundamentals to advanced skills.
• Understand and promote good sportsmanship among student-athletes.
• Complete required reports and record keeping accurately and timely.
• Work with MTSS for behavior and academics.
• Supervise players at practices, games, in the locker room, and on the bus.
• Must possess enthusiastic attitude and ability to understand intermediate-aged youth in an athletic setting.
