Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Michigan School Teaching Certificate with a Secondary Education certification and Social Studies endorsement; Bachelor's degree required.
• Prior successful Jr.-Sr. High School teaching experience preferred; ability to develop rapport with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test required; first aid training.
• Alternatives to the above qualification may be considered by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction for assigned classes in the location(s) and at the time designated that challenge high achievers and accelerate learning; develop objectives and communicate them to students and parents.
• Uses varied assessment practices to evaluate academic and social growth and prepares progress reports; adapts instruction to ensure growth.
• Maintains district policies and school improvement plan while modeling ethics and professionalism.
• Maintains a safe, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and student welfare.
• Follows the school discipline plan with clear expectations and supports diversity in the school community.
• Meets the physical demands of the job and is available outside instructional hours as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
