Job summary

Lvi-Associates in Houston, TX is seeking a Junior H&H Modeler to join its Water Resources team. This early-career engineer will develop hydrologic and hydraulic models and contribute to drainage design and floodplain analyses across Texas.

You will work with Project Managers and Senior Engineers on public and private projects, gaining hands-on experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, ArcGIS, and related tools, with hybrid work options and growth toward PE licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in water resources, drainage, or H&H modeling.
  • EIT preferred or able to obtain within 12 months.
  • Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, or ArcGIS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • Develop and maintain H&H models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, SWMM, and ArcGIS.
  • Support floodplain mapping, watershed studies, and stormwater master planning efforts.
  • Perform data collection, quality control, and technical calculations.
  • Prepare technical reports, exhibits, drainage studies, and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Assist with permitting and compliance activities related to stormwater and drainage projects.
  • Support senior staff with project delivery and client presentations.

About the Opportunity

A growing civil engineering consulting firm in Houston is seeking a Junior H&H Modeler to join its Water Resources team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who is looking to develop technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage design, floodplain analysis, and stormwater management projects throughout Texas.

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Engineers, you will contribute to a wide variety of public and private sector projects, including drainage improvements, flood mitigation studies, watershed planning, transportation drainage, and land development.
