Job summary

ESP Enterprises Inc. in Midland, TX is seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Hydraulics & Hydrology to join our civil engineering team.

You will support land development, infrastructure, drainage, stormwater, and municipal projects from planning through construction administration. The ideal candidate has a CE degree from an ABET-accredited program, 3+ years of civil engineering experience, EIT certification, and proficiency with AutoCAD and HEC-RAS modeling.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited civil engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.).
  • EIT certification is required at minimum.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and HEC-RAS for design and modeling.
  • Minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Experience with drainage, stormwater, land development or civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support land development and infrastructure projects from planning to construction.
  • Design drainageways, storm sewer systems, and detention facilities.
  • Perform hydraulics and hydrology analyses for projects.
  • Complete floodplain modeling and drainage studies.
  • Assist with roadway, site grading, utility, and site layout design.
  • Perform hydrologic/runoff calculations and sizing of detention facilities.
  • Design waterlines, sanitary sewer systems, and pumping stations.
  • Support municipal distribution systems and site civil improvements.
  • Prepare permits with local jurisdictions and FEMA.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS for modeling.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Hydraulics & Hydrology to join our client a growing civil engineering team in Midland, Texas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a civil engineer who wants to work on diverse land development, infrastructure, drainage, stormwater, and municipal projects in a collaborative environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineering professionals and support projects from initial planning and design through construction administration.

What You'll Do
  • Support public and private land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Design drainageways, storm sewer systems, stormwater quality systems, and detention facilities.
  • Perform hydraulics and hydrology analysis for land development projects.
  • Complete floodplain modeling and drainage studies.
  • Support roadway, site grading, utility, and site layout design.
  • Perform hydrologic runoff and hydraulic capacity calculations.
  • Calculate detention and retention facility sizing.
  • Design waterlines, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, paving, and streets.
  • Support municipal distribution systems and site civil improvements.
  • Assemble and process permits with local jurisdictions and FEMA.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS for engineering design and modeling.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required at minimum.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • HEC-RAS modeling experience.
  • Experience with drainage, stormwater, land development, or civil infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
