Safeway in Brookline, MA is seeking a Front-End Team Member to ensure a smooth checkout experience. You will scan items, handle payments, bag groceries, and assist customers quickly and cheerfully.

This role keeps the front end organized, rotates between tasks, and requires flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior customer service is a plus; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ years old (18+ per local/state rules)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills
• Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Scan items and process purchases (cash, card, digital payments)
• Bag groceries and assist customers at checkout
• Maintain front-end area and assist with bagging, cart retrieval, stocking
• Follow store policies and checkout procedures
• Keep communications clear and help answer customer questions
