Job summary

SOCOTEC in Farmingdale, NY is seeking entry-level Field Technicians to perform construction materials testing, including concrete, soil, and asphalt, in accordance with industry standards. You will work in the field performing tests and reporting results as required.

The role offers on-site work with training provided; candidates should have strong math skills, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should have technical knowledge/understanding and desire to learn technical skills. Training will be provided. Candidate will be expected to obtain ACI Field Grade 1 Certification within 6 months of hiring.
• Strong mathematic skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of standardized tests on construction materials using established methods.
• Report results of testing as per ASTM or other standardized requirements.
• Perform maintenance and verifications of testing equipment.
• Assist in construction materials testing lab if needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
