AMES, Inc. is a second-generation manufacturer's representative. The company was established in 1957 under the name K.F. McQuilkin Company. In 1973, the name was changed to AMES, Inc. (Associated Mechanical Equipment Suppliers) and a second entity, MESSCO was formed as a service shop and warranty repair station, primarily to serve AMES, Inc. Within a couple of years, MESSCO expanded into a fabrication shop for electrical panels and water booster systems. In March 1988, MESSCO merged with AMES, Inc. trading as AMES/MESSCO to simplify bookkeeping procedures. In October of 1991, David & Frank McQuilkin purchased the business from Mac McQuilkin.

The Junior Service Technician serves as an ambassador for the Company to the Customer with responsibilities for assistance with equipment installation, repairs for pumps and related equipment. These services are performed on the Customer’s site according to their schedule to ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Service pumps and related equipment.
  • Provide technical service, start-ups, installation and repairs.
  • Complete written evaluations, recommendations, and related company reports.
  • Work with service software for communication and scheduling.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and desire to grow an existing sales and service business.
  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle - valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate strong Mechanical and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Able to learn new skills and processes.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Show excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
