Arena Direct Hire has partnered with a fast-growing national general contractor specializing in open-store retail remodels, signage, and specialty construction programs. Due to rapid growth, they are expanding their field team and hiring multiple Field Project Managers (Project Engineers) to oversee complex, fast-paced projects across the U.S.

• Job Title: Field Project Manager 1 or 2 (DOE)
• Compensation:
• FPM 1: $65,000 – $80,000, FPM 2: $80,000 – $95,000
• Bonus Eligible: Quarterly performance-based bonus
• Travel: Up to 90% nationwide
• For remote roles, the company will require candidates to travel to their California Headquarters for 1 week a month for the first 3 months of training.
• Please note travel is required all across the US.
• Per Diem: $59/day + lodging, travel, and approved expenses covered
• Remote Friendly: Open to candidates in major metro areas (e.g., Atlanta, Tulsa, Kansas City)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Travel to job sites to oversee active construction programs and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence
• Manage crews and subcontractors across multiple sites simultaneously
• Serve as the on-site liaison between internal PMs, clients, subcontractors, and store-level leadership
• Conduct job walks, enforce safety compliance, and submit daily/weekly reports
• Coordinate multi-phase projects (often 10–15 day durations) across regions
• Support closeout activities and client satisfaction at every milestone
• Report progress, resource needs, and issues directly to the Director of Construction

What You’ll Bring

• Knowledge of Fast Paced projects. Think Tenant Improvement, referbs, & upgrades and retail installs. The average project is 15.3 days with a budget of $100k.
• They are looking for driven candidates that are technical who have some construction exposure (Can read blue prints) but can also converse with the onstore managers while also managing vendors and teams.
• 2+ years of hands-on construction experience (carpentry, paint, electrical, etc.)
• Field leadership experience on tenant improvements or retail/QSR remodels
• Ability to manage 2–5 job sites at once, often across state lines
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP systems, and compliance protocols
• Comfort working long days on-site and handling last-minute travel needs
• Experience coordinating teams in high-speed, open-store environments
• Professional communication skills and the ability to lead crews with minimal supervision
