Job summary

GAP Solutions Inc. is seeking a Junior Human Resource Specialist in Michigan to support managers, program staff, and customers across staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment, compensation, SES programs, and employee relations.

The role involves processing payroll actions, maintaining personnel records, drafting SOPs, and providing general HR guidance. Travel and certain site responsibilities may be required to support DHS/ICE/OHC operations.

Qualifications

• 3 years federal HR experience equivalent (if applicable).
• Strong knowledge of HR topics and processes.

Responsibilities

• Processing personnel and payroll actions, keying payroll documents, processing leave audits.
• Creating vacancy, retirement and payroll folders.
• Researching waiver and hearing requests.
• Scanning documents into various personnel record systems.
• Assisting with drafting SOPs.
• Processing personal liability insurance reimbursement claims.
• Initiating tentative selection notifications and related correspondence.
• Responding to and providing HR guidance to applicants and staff.
• Provide admin support: manage calendars, screen calls, arrange travel and meetings.
• Prepare agendas, correspondence, and spreadsheets; file and organize documents.
