GoldenWolf in Lexington, KY is seeking a motivated Construction Project Engineer (Junior) to support a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers federal construction program on a multi-year project at the UK campus.

The role involves monitoring construction, QA inspections, reviewing submittals, and helping with contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling, with on-site responsibilities and ~10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction management, project engineering, contract administration, quality assurance, or related construction disciplines.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Perform quality assurance inspections and prepare daily QA reports.
• Review contractor submittals, schedules, quality control plans, safety plans, and environmental documentation.
• Assist with construction management and contract administration activities.
• Track RFIs, deficiencies, change requests, and corrective actions.
• Review payment applications, progress reports, and project schedules.
• Support change order development, cost estimating, negotiations, and contract modifications.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and project reviews.
• Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, correspondence, and project records.
• Coordinate testing activities and verify compliance with quality standards.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and operation and maintenance manuals.
• Support punch-list completion, final inspections, and project closeout activities.
