Job summary

Slayden Constructors Inc. in Salem, Oregon, is seeking an Entry-Level General Estimator to help prepare cost estimates for design phases and various project delivery methods.

Projects include wastewater and water facilities, pipelines, and infrastructure worth $1–$100M. You will work with CM/GC, Progressive Design-Build, and Hard Bid approaches, supporting senior estimators and coordination with engineering and procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years in estimating or related construction field.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; willingness to learn estimating software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review solicitation documents to understand scope and identify pricing risks and opportunities.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with estimating labor, materials, equipment, and costs.
• Support preparation of estimates for proposals, projects, and studies.
• Coordinate estimating information with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations.
• Assist senior estimators in preparing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates.
• Develop pricing structures and apply labor rates and unit costs to takeoffs.
