Job summary

Slayden Constructors Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level General Estimator based at our headquarters in Salem, Oregon. You will assist with creating cost estimates for CM/GC, Progressive Design-Build, and hard bid projects across water infrastructure sectors.

Projects range from $1M to $100M, with responsibilities including takeoffs, pricing, and coordination with engineering, procurement, and operations. Strong math, attention to detail, and willingness to learn estimator software are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of construction, estimating, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and specs.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and organize numerical info.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review solicitation documents to understand scope and risks.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Support preparation of estimates for proposals and projects.
• Coordinate estimating information with engineering, procurement, and operations.
• Assist senior estimators in developing estimates of varying scope.
