Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Wisconsin is seeking an entry-level craftsperson assistant to support skilled trades on road and utility projects. You will learn to operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment under supervision, perform maintenance tasks, and assist with trenching, loading, and material handling.

Responsibilities include following instructions, maintaining tools, ensuring safety, and assisting with inspections of equipment and work sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent may be required.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate vehicles and heavy equipment under supervision.
• Load, haul and spread materials to grade roads.
• Trench and install culverts and pipes; clear debris.
• Assist skilled craftsmen with fluid level checks and lubrication.
• Assist with inspecting equipment and materials for defects.
