Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate vehicles and large heavy equipment performing maintenance on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes.
• Assist skilled craftsman with checking and maintaining fluid levels and lubrication.
• Assist with inspecting equipment and structures to identify faults or defects.
