Job summary

AECOM seeks an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to join our Virginia/NJ/PA/MD offices with a Spring/Summer 2027 start. This role involves field surveys, data collection, and preparing environmental assessment reports under supervision.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
Valid US driver's license and ability to pass MVR screening.
Ability to travel locally and in the field.

Responsibilities

Assist ecologist with stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments and other surveys.
Process field data and assist in development or origin of ecological assessment reports using equipment like tablets and GPS.
Coordinate with agencies on survey protocols, reporting standards, and endangered species coordination.
Review desktop information for environmental impact assessments.
Learn field survey equipment and data collection/reporting tools with team leads.
Assist in preparing permit applications and other technical information.
Collect and analyze data under supervision of experienced staff.
Travel locally; overnight travel as required.
