Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a full-time entry to junior level Responder, Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Chemist in Denver, CO. The role supports a broad range of environmental projects with up to 70% travel to field sites throughout the Mountain Region.

Responsibilities include field work support, project coordination, data management, and emergency response. A BS/BA in a related environmental science and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Geology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Geography or related environmental science
• 0-5 years of experience
• On-call up to two weeks per month with mandatory response time
• Able to travel including overnight and weekends
• Organize, coordinate, analyze, and present technical material
• Excellent writing skills in English
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Able to learn quickly and multi-task
• Highly motivated and customer focused
• Team oriented and can work independently
• Manage a heavy workload
• Excellent client interaction and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Support field work for Federal and Private clients, including project management, budgeting, and scheduling
• Provide technical support to EPA contract in site investigation, Brownfields redevelopment, removal assessment, data management, and emergency response
• Oversee and conduct multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections, use field monitoring equipment, review data, prepare reports and maps
• Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring projects to completion
• Monitor and communicate project status and goals
• Support emergency response, mobilizing to spill or response sites and assisting EPA and others with air monitoring, sampling, and data management
• Understand and use environmental monitoring equipment
• Work in PPE Levels A-D
