Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our emergency response team in Kemah, TX. The role focuses on environmental sampling, data collection, and applying scientific methods to identify pollution sources affecting the environment and public health.

You will work in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment with a requirement for extensive travel and on-call rotation. A degree in a related science and strong English communication are essential, with opportunities to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology or related science.
1–3 years of related field experience may be substituted for a degree.
Advanced computer skills on Windows; ability to learn various software and handle administrative duties.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Willingness to travel for extended periods and participate in emergency response.

Responsibilities

Immediate availability for extended travel and emergency response at client’s request.
Maintain, calibrate and mobilize equipment for emergency response.
Gather and analyze samples from potential contamination sources.
Perform monitoring and sampling per prescribed methods.
Complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training within first three weeks of hire date.
Possession of DISA & TWIC clearances within 3 months of hire date.
Complete designated safety requirements within first month of hire date.
Perform other duties as assigned.
