Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time, entry to junior level Responder, Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Chemist to join our Denver, CO office. This is not a remote position, with field work across Colorado and neighboring states and up to 70% travel.

You’ll support Federal and private clients in site investigations, Brownfields redevelopment, data management and emergency response, using a range of monitoring equipment under PPE.

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in Geology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Geography or related environmental science.
  • 0-5 years of experience.
  • Periodic on-call support, up to two weeks per month.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight and weekends.
  • Excellent writing skills that include the ability to read and assimilate technical and scientific information in English.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task.
  • Highly motivated, customer focused
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and under direct on-site supervision.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload
  • Excellent client interaction and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support field work for Federal and Private clients, including project management, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Provide technical support to a long-term U.S. Environmental Protection Agency contract in the areas of site investigation, Brownfields redevelopment, removal assessment, data management, and emergency response.
  • Overseeing and conducting multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections, use of a range of field monitoring equipment, organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports and maps, file reviews, collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support, contractor oversight, task and project management, and related services.
  • Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of each project’s status and goals
  • Emergency response work includes mobilizing to spill or response sites and working with EPA and other parties to support air monitoring, sampling, communications support, and data management.
  • Understanding and use of environmental monitoring equipment
  • Work in Levels A, B, C and D PPE
