Job summary

Stadler Signaling in Utah seeks a motivated Signaling Engineer I to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced rail signaling systems, including CBTC, CWS, and SCADA. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, take ownership of subprojects, and grow your expertise in signaling technologies, systems, and customer applications.

You will gain hands-on experience across concept to validation phases and have a path toward technical leadership within the Signaling

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support system engineering across project lifecycle (concept, design, implementation, validation).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure components align with architecture and customer requirements.
• Develop and execute integration and testing strategies for safety and performance.
• Manage hardware and software interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with subsystems.
• Participate in design reviews, safety assessments and QA activities.
• Identify system risks and develop mitigation and contingency strategies.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Signaling Engineer Iwithin Stadler US's Signaling Division, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of advanced rail signaling systems, including:

• CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control)
• CWS (Collision Warning System using radar, lidar, cameras, and AI)
• SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

In this role, you will support the delivery of signaling solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance, while aligning with customer requirements and industry regulations. Based on your strengths, you may focus on electrical, mechanical, or software components. You will also take ownership of subprojects and develop broad expertise in signaling technologies, systems, and customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Support system engineering processes across the full project lifecycle (concept, design, implementation, validation)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system components align with overall architecture and customer requirements
• Develop and execute integration and testing strategies to ensure system performance and safety compliance
• Manage hardware and software interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with subsystems such as rolling stock, wayside equipment, and control centers
• Participate in design reviews, safety assessments, and quality assurance activities
• Identify system-level risks and develop mitigation and contingency strategies

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

• Bachelor's degree in industrial/systems engineering, electrical Engineering, computer Engineering or related field with a focus on rail signaling systems
• Strong interest in rail signaling technologies (CBTC, CWS, SCADA, ATS, DCS)
