Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Junior Electrical and Telecommunications Engineer to join our engineering team. The role supports planning, design, and delivery of electrical and telecom infrastructure for federal and commercial clients, with opportunities to work alongside licensed PEs and specialists. The position offers hybrid or fully remote arrangements depending on location, with travel of 10–15% for site visits.

A Bachelor's degree in EE and FE certification are preferred prerequisites. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 1+ year of electrical and/or telecommunications engineering design experience.
• 1+ year of DoD, government contracting, or DoD projects experience.
• FE certification obtained or actively pursued, preferably within 12 months of employment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit for engineering design and construction documentation.
• U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and electronic security systems.
• Prepare and modify construction drawings, engineering calculations, and design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support electrical system studies, equipment selection, and development of engineering deliverables.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI/TIA, and UFC codes under supervision of licensed engineers.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate designs and meet project requirements.
• Participate in site investigations, facility assessments, and client meetings.
• Develop engineering calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation.
