Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Junior Electrical and Telecommunications Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role offers hybrid or remote work options with a preference for candidates near Ann Arbor, Detroit, or Huntsville, AL, and travel for site visits.

You will contribute to design drawings, calculations, and specifications under licensed engineers. The position provides exposure to electrical power distribution, lighting, telecom, and security systems while expanding knowledge of codes and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 1+ years of electrical and/or telecommunications engineering design.
• 1+ years of experience in engineering consulting, DoD projects, or government contracting.
• FE certification obtained or pursued within 12 months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit for engineering design and construction documentation.
• Foundational understanding of electrical and telecommunications systems, codes and standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% for site visits and fieldwork.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and electronic security systems.
• Prepare and modify construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support electrical system studies and equipment selection.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI/TIA, UFC requirements under licensed engineers.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in site investigations and client meetings.
• Develop design documentation with increasing responsibilities.
