Job summary

Black & Veatch is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineer for the Water group in the Kansas City area. You will support the Water & Wastewater department with design deliverables, data collection, and basic calculations, contributing to project success in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes adherence to engineering standards and continuous improvement, with hybrid work options after the initial onboarding period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Internship experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of design principles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
• Supports the quality program and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contributes to preparation of engineering deliverables (drawings, reports, specs, studies) of limited scope.
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment/materials selection.
• Collects and manages data for engineering work and prepares basic calculations.
