Job summary

UpCore Solutions is seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer (EIT) to join our expanding MEP team in Austin. This early-career role offers hands-on experience in electrical building systems design under licensed Professional Engineers.

You will assist with design, analysis, and documentation for a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, institutional, educational, and municipal sectors, with opportunities to pursue a Texas P.E. license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• EIT certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• 2-3 years of electrical engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design for power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform engineering calculations under supervision of licensed engineers.
• Prepare electrical plans, load calculations, panel schedules, and specifications for construction documents.
• Support development of cost estimates and design alternatives.
• Assist with code research and application of NEC and local codes.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software to prepare project documents.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction.
• Participate in field visits and site investigations.
• Document field conditions and assist with observation reports.
