Job summary

APTIM Corp. in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Junior level Electrical Engineer for early-phase design of power, lighting, grounding, and backup systems. You will work on instrumentation, controls, and fire detection/alarming, with occasional field work.

You will develop conceptual designs, perform calculations, and produce detailed drawings while ensuring adherence to NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and ANSI standards. A supportive environment supports professional growth and diverse project exposure.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering.
• 0–4 years of related experience (entry to junior level).
• Familiar with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, ANSI codes and standards.
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering theories, practices and procedures.
• Strong computer skills with Office products; CAD experience a plus.
• Willingness to travel for infrequent field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design and perform system studies.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings and calculations.
• Ensure conformance to codes, standards, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers to resolve issues.
• Assist with labor/material estimates and design packages for clients.
