Job summary
APTIM is seeking an electrical engineer to join our team supporting Government and Commercial programs. You will apply design and planning to power distribution, lighting, grounding, and controls, driving safe, compliant electrical solutions across multiple projects.
The role requires ABET-accredited degree, 5–9 years of experience, and the ability to obtain a DOE security clearance. Travel to sites and collaboration with multiple disciplines are expected to deliver complete packages and meet
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
- 5–9 years related experience.
- Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and ANSI codes and standards.
- Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain within a short time frame after hire.
- Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance - US Citizen.
- Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience with engineering analysis software (ETAP, SKM, Visual).
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation).
- Good verbal and writing skills.
- Factory, field, and/or construction experience a strong plus.
- Experience with instrumentation and controls systems a plus.
- Willing to travel for infrequent field/site visits.
Responsibilities
- Produce complete electrical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and supporting electrical calculations.
- May perform in project leadership role and/or supervise lower level personnel.
- Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Coordinate with and consult other Engineers and Designers to engineer, plan, and detail components and systems.
- Coordinate and work with other Disciplines for complete multi-discipline design packages.
- Assist with both the initial planning and design phases of projects.
- Support procurement and construction phases of projects with engineering knowledge and experience.
- Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards and company policies.
- Travel to work site locations to provide engineering support and conduct meetings with clients.
