Job summary

WSP’s Minneapolis, MN office is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of building projects across commercial, healthcare, higher education, and civic sectors.

You’ll design electrical systems, perform calculations, develop construction documents with Revit/AutoCAD, and support site investigations and construction administration while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of post-education electrical engineering experience.
• Familiarity with building electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop building electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, controls, emergency systems, fire alarms.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analyses, equipment sizing, feeder/conductor sizing, short-circuit and coordination studies.
• Prepare construction drawings, specs, reports, and technical studies.
• Create engineering designs and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Support site investigations, field observations, and construction administration activities.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs; coordinate with project stakeholders.
