Job summary

Bahnson Environmental Specialties, LLC seeks an entry-level Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. You will work with senior engineers on designing, developing, and commissioning control systems for our environmental chambers, gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.

This hands-on role emphasizes practical problem solving, documentation, and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver reliable, high-precision solutions for our customers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• Internship or co-op experience in engineering preferred; hands-on project work encouraged.
• Ability to diagnose electrical or programming issues and collaborate with a team.
• Exposure to CAD software and basic programming logic (C, Python, Ladder Logic).
• Strong documentation discipline and communication within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts for industrial control systems using AutoCAD and EPlan.
• Participate in PLC and HMI development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Apply knowledge of electromechanical controls and wiring practices for chamber applications.
• Learn and apply UL 508A and NEC standards; assist hardware integration and FAT testing.
• Generate project documentation, BOMs, and testing protocols for delivery to clients.
