Job summary

Agility Personnel is seeking a Sr. Electrical / Controls Engineer to lead electrical design and control system development for custom process equipment.

You will own projects from concept through commissioning, including designing electrical packages, programming PLCs and HMIs, and coordinating factory testing and customer start-up at sites across diverse industries. The role requires hands-on design, robust knowledge of NEC/UL-508, AutoCAD Electrical, and extensive PLC/HMI programming

Qualifications

  • 10+ years designing electrical controls for industrial machinery and automation
  • Expert knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, and instrumentation
  • Extensive control panel design experience
  • High proficiency programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, soft starts, motion control, and servos
  • Experience developing and executing Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Expert knowledge of NEC and UL-508
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
  • Advanced AutoCAD Electrical
  • Siemens PLCs, Safety PLCs, FactoryTalk Remote, EWON, hydraulics, or pneumatics a plus

Sr. Electrical / Controls Engineer

We are recruiting for a Senior Electrical / Controls Engineer at a custom process equipment manufacturer. This is not a role where you program the same machine over and over. Every project is one-of-a-kind, built for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, chemical, food processing, and water treatment customers.

You will own projects from concept through commissioning, supporting sales proposals, designing the electrical package, programming the controls, running factory testing, and starting the equipment up at the customer site.

What you'll do:

  • Support conceptual electrical designs during the quotation process
  • Design electrical schematics and control panels in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Select components and develop Bills of Material
  • Program Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
  • Design intuitive operator interfaces
  • Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Debug and optimize electrical control systems
  • Support fabrication, assembly, startup, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot customer equipment and document root cause
  • Train customers and internal teams on equipment operation
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, UL-508, and applicable standards

What you need:
